Report on Liver Health Foundation's Attendance at the Triple Elimination Conference

Introduction
The Liver Health Foundation (LHF), a leading non-profit organization dedicated to promoting liver health and raising awareness about liver-related diseases, proudly participated in the Triple Elimination Conference held at Speke Resort Munyonyo in Kampala.
The conference brought together prominent national and international leaders, including H.E. Jesca Alupo, Vice President of the Republic of Uganda, Ministers of Health from several African nations, and representatives from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), African Union (AU), World Health Organization (WHO), and the U.S. Embassy in Uganda.
It also featured participation from various civil society organizations, health advocates, and development partners, all uniting around the common goal of achieving Triple Elimination — Hepatitis B, HIV, and Syphilis.

1. Sharing Best Practices
Dr. Mukuye Ashiraf and Mr. Julius Ssenyonga shared insights from Liver Health Foundation’s community-driven programs across Uganda. They presented the Foundation’s initiatives in hepatitis prevention, vaccination campaigns, community education, and patient support, emphasizing evidence-based approaches that empower individuals and communities to take control of their liver health.
2. Networking and Collaboration
Throughout the conference, the Foundation’s delegation engaged with regional policymakers, researchers, and international organizations, discussing potential collaborations aimed at improving access to screening, treatment, and vaccination.
These engagements opened doors for new partnerships to strengthen
integrated health systems and contribute to the
2030 global hepatitis elimination goals.
3. Advocacy for Integration and Policy Action
The discussions highlighted the importance of integrating hepatitis services within broader health programs such as HIV, maternal and child health, and primary healthcare. LHF advocated for increased investment and policy prioritization of liver health in Uganda’s national health agenda, aligning with the Africa Hepatitis Elimination Framework and global WHO strategies.
